New Practice Directions; eCourts Portal, Daily Court Lists and Court Records
Information Note
The Children's Court of Western Australia has released a suite of three new Practice Directions:
- Practice Direction 1 of 2026: Request for Access to a Court Record
- Practice Direction 2 of 2026: Juvenile Criminal Information on the eCourts Criminal Portal
- Practice Direction 3 of 2026: Access to Daily Court Lists
These Practice Directions outline the procedures for seeking access to court records and information relating to proceedings before the Children's Court.
They provide guidance on how to make a request, the appropriate registry for each type of request, the factors the court will consider, and the usual methods by which access to records or information will be provided.
Approved forms for each category of request accompany the Practice Directions and are available on the Children's Court website.
The Practice Directions also include instructions to the Department of Justice regarding the maintenance of Children’s Court records and information on the eCourts Criminal Portal.
