Person authorised by the registrar under the Restraining Orders Regulations 1997
Information Note
From time to time a restraining order is required to be served on a young person in detention. This information note is about the persons who are authorised to effect such service.
Service of a restraining order is to be effected by the persons listed in reg 10 of the Restraining Orders Regulations 1997 (the Regulations) or a person authorised by the registrar. For the purposes of reg 10 of the Regulations a custodial officer, appointed under s 11(1a)(a) of the Young Offenders Act 1994, is a person authorised by the registrar to effect service of a restraining order.
